Recent details have emerged about the tragic passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Los Angeles home property on Sunday.

The Discovery

According to a report quoting a family associate, a therapist scheduled for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the home. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

After gaining access to the home, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. A companion who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Afterward, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Developments

Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, along with the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently being held without bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source challenged several previously reported details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.

Additionally refuted widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. The source claimed the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction includes reports of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a event held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. While the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the scene. He was due to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
