Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world offered sympathy for the star in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
